Christian family businesses combine faith, business, and individual and family dynamics.  This combination can bring great joy and also some complexity. Examples of situations where complexities often come up include:

  • Old wounds from within a family get in the middle of their business.
  • Non-family team members don’t know how to handle destructive family dynamics out of fear of losing their jobs, which hurts their performance and the company’s profits.
  • The CEO of a family business names one of his children as his successor.  However, the other siblings are offended and resentful.
  • A husband and wife who run a family business bring their “work” home and dominate family time with business talk.

We want to come alongside you, your family, and your business to help heal what needs to be healed and grow what needs to be grown.

Before we start the process, we want to meet with you to hear your goals and give you a rough idea of how we would address your concerns.  Once you agree to the process, we will create a proposal that captures the thoughts from our meeting and outlines how we can help and what the family can expect throughout the process. Our programs are flexible, and if we discover we that we need to adjust once we start working, we will.

After our initial meeting and proposal, we make sure that all family members are on board. This is because everyone needs to desire to participate in the process to create lasting change.  If a family member is unwilling to participate and they are an integral part of the dynamics, that may be a sign that we should not proceed with an approach that includes everyone. Instead, we can still work individually with those who want to change so that they can heal and grow.

Then, those who want to participate in our process will complete forms and take a few assessments.  These forms and assessments will help you and your family members know how each person is naturally wired and understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses. They will also give us insight into how we can tailor our strategies to fit how each person is wired, in order to set you and your family up for success.

Next, every family member will have foundation sessions, where they tell us their story and we debrief the assessments.  From then on, our programs will vary greatly depending on what each family needs to addresses their concerns. We may facilitate training sessions on building trust and forgiveness, set up coaching sessions to help everyone achieve their goals, and/or provide family sessions where family members can talk together to resolve conflicts and grow their relationship.

If you’d like to learn more or get started with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out here. We are excited to start the conversation!
