The Daily CHEW™
Moving God’s Love from Head to Heart for Christian Professionals

A high-performing client sat back in his office chair, staring out the window after another packed week. “I know in my head God’s love is the right foundation, but honestly, I’m afraid to go all in,” he admitted. “If I really focus relentlessly on God’s love, won’t I lose my edge? Will I get soft, passive, or just settle for a bland life? My drive has always come from pushing myself. Can I actually risk letting go?”

God’s Love Drives Fearless Ambition—It Never Makes You Weak

What most high achievers misunderstand is that God’s love isn’t the opposite of drive—it’s the source of courage, discipline, and real impact. Scripture never commends passivity. Paul’s pursuit (“I press on toward the goal…” – Philippians 3:14) was propelled by Christ’s love (2 Corinthians 5:14). Jesus—full of God’s love—lived and led with unmatched courage, sacrifice, and vision (John 13:1).

Fear-based motivation feels energizing, but it breeds exhaustion and anxiety. Countless studies show that leaders anchored in love—not fear—are more resilient, focused, and creative. The greatest impact-makers in history have been those fueled by the security of being deeply loved by God, not by the pressure to prove themselves.

The true danger isn’t that you’ll lose your edge if you center your life on God’s love—but that you risk missing the fierce, resilient purpose only His love can produce.

This Is Where CHEWing Moves the Heart…

CHEW in 3-5 Minutes:

Confess (C) to God
“Father, here’s what I’m honestly feeling right now before You: I’m afraid to fully trust Your love. I fear I’ll lose my motivation, become passive, or just end up living a safe, mediocre life. I’m struggling to let go of the old drive that’s gotten me this far.”

Hear (H) from God in Scripture
“Father, what Scripture do You want me to wrestle with right now?”
“The love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died… And He died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for Him who for their sake died and was raised.” (2 Corinthians 5:14–15)

“What is true about You or Your love in this? You transform my drive, You never diminish it. Your love is the real source of fearless motivation.”

Exchange (E) with God
“If I really believed God’s love is powerful, motivating, and sacrificial—the opposite of mediocrity or passivity, how would that change my fear of losing my edge, my motivation, or my courage to lead boldly?”

“Today, I give You my reliance on anxiety and fear, and I take hold of Your fierce, energizing love.”

Walk (W) with the Holy Spirit
“Holy Spirit, please guide me to the next step I should take that will please You.”
“Here’s the next step I believe pleases You: When faced with a challenge or leadership decision this week, I’ll pause, breathe, and choose to act from knowing I’m loved and called—instead of acting from fear of loss or failure.”
“Holy Spirit, if there’s a better step, shift me!”

Worship: Experience the Life God’s Love Was Always Meant to Fuel

God never calls His children to choose between courage and comfort, impact and intimacy. Pursuing His love above all actually unlocks the strongest, clearest, and most purposeful life possible. Bring your doubts and hesitations, but don’t sell God’s love short: its certainty is what shapes ordinary people into bold, world-changing leaders.

Worship today by thanking God for an unshakable love that releases you from mediocrity and fear, and empowers you for holy ambition, real excellence, and joy-filled impact.
