The Daily CHEW™
Chew on God’s Love. Live Transformed. Multiply Hope.

It’s a Monday night in Atlanta, and I’m wrapping up calls with founders and high performers—some leading nonprofits, some growing second-generation businesses, some with compensation packages most would envy—all with calendars loaded with activity and wins. What unites so many, regardless of net worth, is the same unspoken ache: when the applause fades and the last Slack message pings, the quiet question creeps in—”Is this all there is?”

I’ve lived the difference. There have been weeks where, even after a string of great accomplishments, I felt an unexpected emptiness—when my driving was disconnected from God’s love, achievement just made the silence louder. But when my days and wins are rooted in daily communion with God—when gratitude and love mark the process—those same weeks end with true satisfaction, humility, and rest, not hollow striving.

Maybe you’re there, too.
Maybe your career or influence is thriving, and your inbox is full of opportunities. Maybe you live with much to be grateful for, yet feel an old fatigue or subtle ache. High performers often carry fears that run deeper than capability concerns—wondering “Am I enough?” or “Will I still be valued if I’m not perfect?” Some of us became high achievers precisely because of shame-based motivations or because our worth feels tied to our performance. Others fear not failure itself, but what failure might reveal about our worth, acceptance, or love. Success feels precarious because the next win can’t fill the deeper longing for meaning, connection, and rest that endures after the applause dies down.

What’s Really Beneath the Surface?
This isn’t just about achievement—it’s about what our hearts are truly rooted in. Underneath high achievement is often a core longing for significance, acceptance, value, and security—the kind of foundation only God’s unearned, unwavering love can provide. Performance, strategy, and even clarity are good gifts, but when disconnected from God’s love, they become restless engines that drive us toward what are core beliefs? The quiet engine behind growth, healing, and hope—always running, never arriving.

True satisfaction—the kind that enables you to celebrate a great week, weather uncertainty about an engagement’s outcome, and rest in your identity—flows from daily returning to the reality: you are deeply loved, cherished, and secure, apart from anything you produce.

Join Me: Experience a CHEW Reset

Pause with me for three minutes. No prep. No posturing.

1. Deep Breaths:
Remember: God’s love is present now—as real and unchanging as it was in your greatest wins, as needed as it is on your hardest days.

2. Adore:
“Father, You love me as I am, right now. My value isn’t measured by this week’s results.”

3. Confess:
“What am I honestly feeling beneath the surface? Am I anxious about outcomes, weary from striving, distracted from Your presence?”

4. Hear:
God’s promises speak directly:

  • “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)
  • “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God.” (1 John 3:1)
  • “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” (Mark 8:36)

5. Exchange:
If I really believed God’s love is unwavering and my core significance is anchored in Him, how would that change this restless striving, my response to uncertainty, or the emptiness that follows accomplishment?

6. Walk:
What simple action or outlook shift will I take today from His love? Maybe I pause after meetings to thank God for His presence, or I approach the next task as someone already loved—not as someone still “proving” his worth.

7. Thanksgiving & Worship:
Thank God for the gift of being loved not for achievements, but as His child. Worship Him because His kindness outlasts results.

Remember This
Growth isn’t measured by perfect outcomes, but by a thousand honest returns to love. God delights in the faithful return far more than in our best run of results. Even the emptiness itself can become an invitation to deeper rest, a signpost to what truly satisfies.

CHEW On This™:
If I really believed God’s love is the unshakeable foundation for my significance, how would that change how I approach success, ambiguity, or the next big goal?
